Montgomery County Alcohol Beverage Services’ Poolesville Spirits Store Will Be Closed on Monday, Jan. 10, Due to Staffing Shortage

The Poolesville store of Montgomery County’s Department of Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) will be closed TODAY, Monday, Jan. 10, due to a staffing shortage. The Poolesville store is located at 19710-D Fisher Ave. in Poolesville.


The Poolesville store may reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 11. Customers are urged to check with the store before going there on future days. The number at the Poolesville store is 240-773-2016.


The two ABS stores closest to the Poolesville store are the full-service stores in Darnestown and Clarksburg Village. The Darnestown store is located at 12155 Darnestown Rd. in Gaithersburg. The Clarksburg Village store is located at 12051 Chestnut Branch Way, Suite 1, in Clarksburg.

ABS is the alcohol wholesaler of beer, wine, and spirits for Montgomery County and operates 26 retail stores throughout the County. In addition, ABS manages alcohol licensing, enforcement and education for more than 1,000 businesses. Generating more than $30 million in net income annually, its profits are used to pay down County debt with a large portion deposited in the general fund to pay for resident services that would otherwise be funded by County tax dollars.
