Montgomery County Is Expecting Up to 2-3 Inches of Snow on Thursday, Jan. 20

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, January 19, 2022

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Thursday, Jan. 20, for Northwest Montgomery County from 4 a.m. to 11 a.m. and for Central and Southeast Montgomery County from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Snow accumulations of up to two inches are expected. Some localized areas may see up to three inches. The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) storm operations crews and Storm Operations Center will activate at 3 a.m.

Montgomery County’s Ride On bus service will be in operation on Thursday. MCDOT Ride On is operating with a temporary reduction  in service due to a growing number of bus operators sick or exposed to COVID-19. The schedule is posted on MCDOT’s website. Riders should expect that there may be some weather-related delays.

More information about snow removal, including who plows specific streets, snow-removal status and submitting service requests, is available online here. For storm clearing effort updates, follow @MCDOTNow on Twitter.
