Virtual Public Meeting on Tuckerman Lane Sidewalk and Bikeway Project in Potomac, on Thursday, March 10

For Immediate Release: Thursday, February 17, 2022

On Thursday, March 10 starting at 6:30 p.m., the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a virtual public meeting to discuss the latest progress of the Tuckerman Lane Sidewalk and Bikeway Project in Potomac. The public will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide comments.

The Tuckerman Lane Sidewalk and Bikeway project provides for a facility planning study of pedestrian and bicycle facilities for an approximately 3.8-mile section of Tuckerman Lane between Falls Road (MD 189) and Old Georgetown Road (MD 187).  The current scope of the project prioritizes the western-most segment of the overall project, and the project limit for Segment 1 is from Falls Road to Seven Locks Road.

At the virtual meeting, MCDOT will present the project scope, the 35% design, project costs, and schedule, and obtain public feedback. The proposed sidewalk will enhance safety for pedestrians, bicyclists, and people with disabilities as they travel to nearby destinations, such as local schools, a shopping center, and places of worship. Public input is encouraged and may influence the future design of the proposed improvements.

Online registration is required to attend. On the morning of the meeting, an electronic invitation will be sent to those who registered.

Prior to the virtual meeting, the public is encouraged to review the project files posted on the project website.

Comments and questions may be submitted to the Project Manager, Angel Cheng, through an online comment form or by emailing angel.cheng@montgomerycountymd.gov. All information provided including questions and comments will become a matter of public record.

Interpreter services will be provided upon request with five business days advance notice by contacting Angel Cheng.
