For Immediate Release: Thursday, February 24, 2022

Early Bird Registration is now open for the ninth annual Montgomery County Energy Summit, which will take place in-person (and virtually) on Tuesday, April 5, at the Silver Spring Civic Building and fully virtual on Wednesday, April 6. The Energy Summit will be hosted by the County Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) in partnership with the US Green Building Council National Capital Region (USGBC NCR). The event will offer cutting-edge education on the latest trends in green building, energy efficiency, renewable energy and related commercial, multifamily and residential topics in Montgomery County.

The Silver Spring Civic Building is located at 1 Veterans Place in Downtown Silver Spring. It is accessible from the Metro Red Line at the Silver Spring station. The Summit will be held from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Civic Building, and from 8:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m. on Wednesday virtually. The Wednesday education sessions will be followed by an in-person networking event from 5:30-7 p.m. at The Pearl in Silver Spring hosted by The Tower Companies.

The Summit will focus on innovation in three topic areas: technology implementation, policy and program design and creativity in financing projects.

As a hybrid in-person and virtual event, attendees will have a full experience that includes breakout education sessions, keynote addresses and plenary speakers. In-person attendees will be able to enjoy the expo hall featuring energy-related products and services, as well as networking opportunities in between education sessions, during lunch and at post-event social gatherings.

On April 5, attendees can join in-person or watch the full event online. On April 6, all educations sessions will be offered online, followed in the late afternoon by an in-person networking event at The Pearl, a LEED- and Fitwel-certified building owned by The Tower Companies located at 180 High Park Lane in Silver Spring.

Early bird admission for two-day access to the in-person and online event is $75 per person. Early bird ticket sales end Thursday, March 10. Regular ticket prices are $85 for in-person and online attendance. All education sessions will be submitted for GBCI and AIA continuing education credits.
