Resources for small business in Montgomery County will be the Focus of “En Sintonía con el Concejo del Condado de Montgomery” Tomorrow at 2 p.m. on Radio America

ROCKVILLE, Md., June 2, 2022—The featured guests on this week’s En Sintonía con el Concejo del Condado de Montgomery (In Tune with the Montgomery County Council) will include Pedro Rodriguez, general consul of El Salvador; Naddia Clute, small business navigator at the Montgomery County Business Advancement Team; and Doctor Luis Aguirre, coordinator at Montgomery County’s Latino Health Initiative. The show will air tomorrow at 2 p.m. on Radio America (WILC 900AM).

Montgomery County Government has partnered with the General Consulate of El Salvador to offer a series of workshops to support small businesses and help them obtain licenses and certifications. The sessions will take place on June 9, 16, and 23 in Wheaton, Maryland. Space for these sessions is limited, and those interested in participating can register by calling 240-302-0907. Pedro Rodriguez, general consul of El Salvador, will discuss how entrepreneurs can access government contracts and benefit from this great opportunity to grow their businesses.

The second part of the show will focus on small businesses and other resources available in Montgomery County. In this segment, Naddia Clute who is a small business navigator will discuss the variety of funding programs available to businesses that are interested in starting or expanding in the County. Entrepreneurs can schedule a virtual or in-person appointment with a business specialist to discuss this innovative approach intended to attract new businesses to Montgomery County. Eligible businesses can receive a one-time grant upon signing a commercial lease with the County.

Lastly, the Montgomery County Latino Health Initiative “Por Nuestra Salud y Bienestar” continues to promote the COVID-19 booster shot. Doctor Luis Aguirre will provide details of the County’s vaccination and testing sites. Moreover, Aguirre will explain the new eligibility criteria for the booster shots and time frame needed in between doses.

The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express their views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station.

Each week, the show features host Marcela Rodriguez, Council program manager and public information officer, and guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
