ROCKVILLE, Md., Sept. 1, 2022 —The featured guests on this week’s En Sintonía con el Concejo del Condado de Montgomery (In Tune with the Montgomery County Council) will include Norma Gamero, situational awareness disaster program specialist at the American Red Cross; Abigail Martin-Salazar, transportation staffing manager at Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS); and Dr. Luis Aguirre, senior program specialist with the Latino Health Initiative. The show will air Friday at 2 p.m. on Radio America (WILC 900AM).
September is National Preparedness Month, which aims to raise awareness about preparing for unexpected emergencies or disasters. Dr. Luis Aguirre will provide details on vaccination clinics and testing, amongst other health resources offered by the Latino Initiative “Salud y Bienestar” sponsored by Councilmember Nancy Navarro and Council President Gabriel Albornoz that has helped thousands of Latino residents during this pandemic.

The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express their views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station.
Each week, the show features host Marcela Rodriguez, Council program manager and public information officer, and guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
