Fall Cleaning of Montgomery County Public Parking Garages in Bethesda, Silver Spring and Wheaton to Begin on Sunday, Sept. 11

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) on Sunday, Sept. 11, will begin its semi-annual interior washdown to degrease and clean 21 County-owned parking garages in Bethesda, Silver Spring and Wheaton on nights and weekends. The cleanings will start with the Silver Spring garages and are scheduled to conclude with the Wheaton garages on Friday, Nov. 4.

Some garages will experience partial closures during the cleanings, including select entrance/exit areas and ramps. The full schedule of garage cleanings can be viewed here.

MCDOT performs spring and fall washdowns to keep garages clean and help keep grease, oil and debris out of local waterways. Regular cleanings prevent deterioration from prolonged exposure to salt, sand, oils, gas, dirt, pollen and leaves.

MCDOT contractors will do their best to perform work around garage traffic and parked vehicles and to post signs notifying customers of anticipated impacts to access.

Comenzará la limpieza otoñal de los estacionamientos públicos del Condado de Montgomery en Bethesda, Silver Spring y Wheaton

El Departamento de Transporte del Condado de Montgomery (MCDOT, por sus siglas en inglés) comenzará el domingo 11 de septiembre la limpieza semestral para desengrasar y limpiar 21 estacionamientos propiedad del condado en Bethesda, Silver Spring y Wheaton. Las limpiezas se llevarán a cabo en horarios nocturnos y los fines de semana y comenzarán con los garajes de Silver Spring y terminarán con los garajes de Wheaton el viernes 4 de noviembre.

Algunos garajes experimentarán cierres parciales durante las limpiezas, incluidas áreas y rampas de entradas/salidas seleccionadas. El calendario completo de limpiezas de garaje se puede ver aquí.

MCDOT realiza limpiezas durante la primavera y el otoño para mantener limpios los garajes y ayudar a mantener la grasa, el aceite y los escombros fuera de las vías fluviales locales. Las limpiezas periódicas evitan el deterioro por la exposición prolongada a la sal, la arena, los aceites, el gas, la suciedad, el polen y las hojas.

Los contratistas de MCDOT harán todo lo posible para realizar el trabajo alrededor del tráfico del garaje y los vehículos estacionados y colocarán letreros que notifiquen a los clientes sobre los impactos anticipados en el acceso.
