Councilmember Will Jawando Thanks Senator Cardin for a Lifetime of Service to Marylanders

Montgomery County Councilmember Will Jawando thanked Senator Ben Cardin for a lifetime of service to Marylanders upon hearing of his retirement this morning.

“Senator Cardin is the embodiment of public service. He has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to public service, and his selfless dedication to the betterment of our community is truly an inspiration. Since 1966, Senator Cardin has been a true champion for the people, fighting tirelessly for equal rights, enhancing infrastructure, improving public safety and foreign policy, and strengthening our community’s social fabric. Just this year, he secured over $40 million in direct federal funding for local projects in Montgomery County.

“There are few people in Maryland, let alone the United States Senate, that have delivered more for working families than Senator Cardin. His tireless work has had a positive impact on our community and will be felt for generations of Marylanders for years to come. I thank him and his family for their selfless service on behalf of our state and nation.”
