A Public Information Meeting will be Held on Plans for a Pedestrian Bridge Over a Tributary to the Northwest Branch Anacostia River in Silver Spring on Wednesday, March 6

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, March 6, 2024

On Wednesday, March 6, starting at 7:30 p.m., the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold an in-person public information meeting to discuss plans for the Pedestrian Bridge over a tributary to the Northwest Branch Anacostia River, between Auth Lane and Kersey Road in Silver Spring. The meeting will be held at the Odessa Shannon Middle School, 11800 Monticello Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland 20902. The public will have an opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions.

This project provides a pedestrian bridge over a tributary to the Northwest Branch. The pedestrian bridge will connect the walking paths between Auth Lane and Kersey Road.

At the public information meeting, MCDOT will present project details, costs, schedules and obtain public comments and answer questions. The completed project will enhance safety for pedestrians as they travel to nearby schools and facilities. Public input is encouraged and may influence project designs.

The public is encouraged to visit the project website and provide feedback via the online comment form or by email to the Project Manager, Rashid Abramov, at Rashid.Abramov@montgomerycountymd.gov. All information provided, including questions and comments, will become a matter of public record.

Interpreter services will be provided upon request with five business days advance notice by contacting Rashid Abramov by email at rashid.abramov@montgomerycountymd.gov or calling 240-777-7207.
