Press Releases - Department of Transportation

A Hybrid Public Meeting Will be Held on the Extension of North High Street in Olney on Wednesday, April 10

For Immediate Release: Thursday, March 14, 2024

On Wednesday, April 10, starting at 6:30 p.m., the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a public information meeting about the preliminary (35%) designs for the North High Street Extended project. The public will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide comments.

North High Street Extended is a project in the County’s Capital Improvements Program (CIP), and the limit of this project is from Morningwood Drive to Georgia Avenue on North High Street in Olney. This project aims to improve safety and connectivity within the Olney town center vicinity, by providing vehicular, pedestrian and bicycle access to North High Street from Morningwood Drive instead of Georgia Avenue.

Online registration is required to attend. This meeting will be accessible both in-person and virtually. Meeting materials will be posted on the project website prior to the scheduled meeting. The in-person meeting will be held at the Olney Library, 3500 Olney Laytonsville Road, Olney, 20832. A Zoom link to the virtual meeting and instructions will be emailed to registrants on the morning of the public meeting. Questions and comments will become a matter of public record.

The public is encouraged to review the project files posted on the project website prior to attending the meeting.

Comments and questions may be submitted to the Project Manager, Angel Cheng, through this online comment form or by emailing angel.cheng@montgomerycountymd.gov.

Interpreter and translation services will be provided upon request with five business days advance notice by contacting Angel Cheng.
