For Immediate Release: Wednesday, April 30, 2025
Montgomery County’s Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) will open its new Oak Barrel & Vine store in White Oak at 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6. Elected officials and alcohol industry representatives plan to attend the opening. The store is in the White Oak Town Center shopping center, located at 12259 Prosperity Dr. in Silver Spring.
For the grand opening, two rare and highly allocated items will be available for purchase at discount prices at the White Oak location only. Customers may purchase Willett 8-Year Wheated Bourbon at $50 off the regular price of $274.99 and Angel’s Envy Bourbon Cask Strength at $30 off the regular price of $227.99. These items will be available for purchase when the doors open at 10 a.m., while supplies last.
From Tuesday-Sunday, May 6-11, the store will offer special tastings, including those of Maryland-made products, high-end spirits and Mother’s Day specials. Global spirits distributor Brown-Forman will offer personalized bottle engraving services with the purchase of its premium products, Woodford Reserve, Gentleman Jack, Herradura and Jack Daniels Single Barrel.
All Oak Barrel & Vine locations (White Oak, Westbard, Montrose, Gaithersburg and Cabin John) will offer discounts on wine and spirits May 6-10. Customers will save 20% off regular priced 750ml bottles of wine and 10% off regular priced local spirits. These sale prices cannot be combined with other discounts.
“This new Oak Barrel & Vine store in White Oak is a modern space, it supports local businesses and it offers a better experience for customers,” said County Executive Marc Elrich. “But I also want to remind people why we operate ABS in the first place — because it generates tens of millions of dollars every year that help pay for education, housing, and other essential services. We’re continuing to invest in better spaces and better service, and this new Oak Barrel & Vine location is a reflection of that work. Cheers to ABS and the White Oak community on this new store.”
The Oak Barrel & Vine branded stores feature handpicked items with a focus on spirits and locally manufactured products. The new White Oak location replaces the store at 11239 New Hampshire Ave. and will be the fifth to carry the Oak Barrel & Vine brand. It features a large tasting room and event space, an improved selection of small format items, a dedicated non-alcoholic products section, queue lines for faster checkout, wayfinding signs and enhanced customer accessibility.
“The new Oak Barrel & Vine store will provide customers with an elevated space and opportunities for tasting events and master classes,” said ABS Director Kathie Durbin. “The Oak Barrel & Vine brand is designed to reflect our community by showcasing local products and providing dynamic service in a safe and inviting environment, turning shopping into an experience.”
