Food, Music, Dance, and Family Fun Take Over Marian Fryer Town Plaza

One of Montgomery County’s most beloved community events is back and more flavorful than ever. The "Taste of Wheaton" festival returns on Sunday, June 1, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering a full day of local restaurant offerings, live music, family activities and entertainment—all in the heart of Downtown Wheaton. Held at Marian Fryer Town Plaza (2424 Reedie Drive), just steps from the Wheaton Metro station, this free, outdoor festival highlights Wheaton’s culinary diversity, vibrant arts scene and strong sense of community. The event will take place rain or shine.

“Taste of Wheaton is a celebration of everything that makes this County special—our diversity, our food, our music and our people,” said County Executive Marc Elrich. “This is a great chance for families, friends, and neighbors to support local restaurants and artists while enjoying everything Wheaton has to offer.” 

Culinary Highlights

Attendees can order food from a variety of local restaurants offering international flavors from Korea, Ethiopia, India, Mexico, Peru, Italy, Nepal and more. Participating vendors include:

Family-Friendly Activities

Beer and Wine Garden

  • Guests 21 and over can enjoy locally brewed selections from Saints Row Brewing in the festival’s dedicated beer and wine garden.

Live Music and Dance Performances

Mainstage performances will run throughout the day and feature an exciting lineup:

  • 11:30 a.m. – Gordon Sterling and The People (Jam Rock/Soul)
  • 1:00 p.m. – Crank Caviar (Go-Go)
  • 2:30 p.m. – Quimbao (Latin)
  • 4:00 p.m. – Secret Society (Urban Contemporary)

Other Live Entertainment

  • Wheaton Studio of Dance
  • Soka Tribe (Afro-Caribbean dance collective)
  • Titanes Salseros (Einstein High School Latin Dance Team) 

Getting There

The event is located directly above the Wheaton Metro station and is accessible by bus, car, and bike. Free public parking is available nearby.
