MCDOT Open House

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a public open house from 6- 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18 at Walter Johnson High School to discuss the North Bethesda Flash Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Planning Study. The in-person open house will focus on the North Bethesda BRT corridor, which is planned to run from Westfield Montgomery Mall to the North Bethesda Metro Station (formerly White Flint). MCDOT is seeking public input which may influence the outcome of the project.

About North Bethesda Flash BRT

North Bethesda Flash BRT will be an upgraded, high-frequency transit service that delivers a faster, more reliable service between Westfield Montgomery Mall and the North Bethesda Metrorail Station. It will potentially use dedicated bus lanes and bus priority treatments at traffic signals. The corridor connects destinations such as the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) satellite offices, community hubs, local schools and the Rock Spring and North Bethesda districts, helping more people reach jobs, education and other essential services more quickly.
