For Immediate Release: Friday, October 31, 2025

Due to crane work, westbound Wisconsin Circle between Western Avenue and Wisconsin Avenue in Chevy Chase will be closed to traffic on Saturday, Nov. 1. No bus stops will be missed because of this closure.
This will affect buses entering or leaving the Friendship Heights station. Ride On Bus Routes 1 (Silver Spring-Friendship Heights), 23 (Friendship Heights-Sibley Hospital), and 29 (Bethesda-Glen Echo/Friendship Heights) will experience slight detours.
Bus Route 1 to Friendship Heights:
Discharge passengers at stop #14770 (Friendship Heights Bay J) on Western Avenue. Continue straight on Western Avenue, right onto
Friendship Boulevard, and right onto Willard Avenue to Friendship Heights Station.
Bus Route 23 to Sibley Hospital:
From Friendship Heights Station, right onto
Wisconsin Circle, right onto Western Avenue, right onto Wisconsin Avenue, left onto
Willard Avenue and back on route.
Bus Route 29 to Friendship Heights:
From Western Avenue and Friendship Boulevard, left onto Friendship Boulevard, right onto Willard Avenue, into Friendship Heights Station.
The County has implemented a zero-fare policy, that went into effect on Sunday, June 29, for all Ride On, Ride On extRa, Ride On Flex and Flash buses.
