Montgomery County Recreation to Host Summer Camp Fairs in January

Montgomery County Recreation invites families to kick off their summer planning at our free Summer Camp Fairs this January. These events are a great opportunity to explore the wide variety of camp programs offered around the County and get a taste of the fun ahead. 

                                         

Summer Camp Fairs

Here are the dates, times and locations for our two summer camp fairs: 

  • Saturday, Jan. 10, 1 – 4 p.m., Germantown Community Recreation Center, 18905 Kingsview Road, Germantown 
  • Sunday, Jan. 11, 1 – 4 p.m., Marilyn J. Praisner Community Recreation Center, 14906 Old Columbia Pike, Burtonsville 

Enjoy games, arts and crafts, snacks and more — while immersing yourself in some of the hands-on camp activities that our youth participants will experience during summer camp! Families will also have the opportunity to meet with recreation staff and instructors, ask questions and learn more about our various summer camp programs. 

“Our summer camps give kids across Montgomery County a safe, welcoming place to learn new skills, make friends and stay engaged during the summer months,” said Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich. “These camp fairs help families see what’s available, meet the people who run our programs, and get their questions answered early. Information about and on-site application for ‘Rec Assist’ financial aid program will be available at these fairs because we want to ensure that cost should never be a barrier to a child having a meaningful summer experience.”

On-site processing for Rec Assist, the department’s financial aid program, will be available at each event. Please ensure that you bring the necessary documentation with you to apply. Once your application is processed, the funds will be available. 

Key Dates to Remember 

  • Registration for County residents begins on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 6:30 a.m. 
  • Registration for non-County residents opens on Thursday, Jan. 22, 6:30 a.m. 

Summer camp registration will be available online at ActiveMONTGOMERY.org and in person. Start planning early — many camps will fill up fast!
