Registration for most spring programs and activities will kick off on Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 6:30 a.m. for County residents. Registration for all senior programs, including the popular Senior Outdoor Adventures in Recreation (SOAR), Day Trippers and Bone Builders programs, will open later that morning at 9 a.m.
Non-County residents can register starting Friday, Feb. 20, at 6:30 a.m.
“Participating in our Recreation Department programming is a great investment in your health and well-being,” said Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich. “As the weather warms up and the days get longer, spring is the perfect time to get active and try something new. Montgomery County Recreation’s programs offer something fun and enjoyable for every resident.”

“Spring is a season of fresh starts, and our programs are designed to help every resident spring forward into new skills and healthy routines,” said Montgomery County Recreation Director Gabe Albornoz. “We encourage everyone to register as early as possible — our popular classes and programs will fill quickly on registration day. How to Register
Residents are encouraged to register online at ActiveMONTGOMERY.org. To ensure a smooth process, log in to your ActiveMONTGOMERY account ahead of registration day to confirm your information is up to date. Detailed instructions for creating or updating an account, along with answers to frequently asked questions, are available on the ActiveMONTGOMERY website.
In addition to online registration, in-person registration will be available starting at 6:30 a.m. on registration day at the County’s administrative office in Wheaton (2425 Reedie Drive, 10th floor). Residents may also register at any County indoor aquatic center or Montgomery County Recreation center during regular business hours. Need help? Give the team a call at 240-777-6840.
Financial Assistance Available Through Rec Assist
Montgomery County Recreation is accepting applications for Rec Assist, the department’s financial assistance program. County residents who meet the program’s requirements can receive $400 per eligible family member in Rec Assist funds to use towards Recreation classes, programs, activities and memberships.
