Shooting Death in Aspen Hill Investigated

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Homicide/Sex Section are investigating a shooting death that occurred this afternoon in Aspen Hill.  Detectives are investigating this death as a homicide.

Today, at approximately 3:20 p.m., 4th District officers and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to a residence in the 13200 block of Superior Street for a report of a shooting.  Upon arriving, officers discovered a young adult male deceased as a result of a gunshot wound.

Investigation revealed that three young adult males were present inside the residence when the shooting occurred.  For reasons still under investigation, one of the males was shot.  After the shooting, one male left the scene, and another male remained in the residence and summoned assistance.

Initially, a look out was placed for the male who left the scene, and through investigative means, he was located and taken into custody.  At this time, both subjects are speaking with detectives regarding the event.

Investigators believe that the three males were acquainted with each other, although the type of  relationship cannot be confirmed at this time.  No charges have been placed and the investigation is ongoing.

The identities of the subjects in custody will not be released at this time.  The identity of the victim will be released after family members have been notified.
