Virginia Man Charged in Prostitution Scheme

For Immediate Release: Thursday, March 29, 2012

The Montgomery County Police Department is investigating a prostitution scheme involving a Virginia man that took place in a Silver Spring hotel.

On February 15 at approximately 7:40 p.m., officers from the 3^rd District responded to the Crowne Plaza hotel located at 8777 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring, for a complaint of prostitution.

When officers arrived, they spoke with a hotel management representative who advised the officers of the following circumstances:

A male subject identified as Bryant Jermaine Livingston, 39 years old, had rented a room on February 15.  Management recognized Livingston as a frequent hotel guest of the recent past.  On those previous occasions, management had observed groups of men and women frequently entering and exiting Livingston’s room after waiting in the hotel lobby area.  Management observed similar behavior on the evening of the February 15.

Police accompanied management to Livingston’s room, spoke with Livingston, and asked if prostitution was occurring in his room.  Livingston replied that no illegal activity was occurring and allowed the employee and police to enter the room.  Police entered the room and observed eleven subjects in the room, including three women and four men in various stages of undress.  Several people were in the two beds while others were seated and standing in the room.

Officers interviewed everyone in the room in an attempt to confirm identities and further the investigation.  One subject admitted that he had paid Livingston $100 to enter the hotel room and engage in sexual activities.

In the weeks following this incident, officers obtained an arrest warrant charging Livingston with five counts of prostitution.  The warrant was served on March 16.  Livingston was released on bond.  The investigation is continuing.
