A BIG THANK YOU to the "First of the First Responders”, our 911 dispatchers and 911 call-takers !

The Montgomery County Police Department would also like to congratulate several ECC employees who were nominated for and won awards presented by the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) Mid-Eastern Chapter this year.  The Mid-Eastern Chapter consists of Delaware, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.

Public Safety Communications Supervisors Tamara Maldonado and Gloria Jackson were awarded the chapter’s “Maryland Supervisor of the Year” award.  Tamara and Gloria’s nomination read, in part, “They work together on the evening shift and handle many large scale incidents together.  Both are very dedicated and professional.”  Tamara has been an ECC employee for over twenty years and Gloria for over twenty three years.

Others who were nominated for awards include Public Safety Communications Specialist Kathy Deem for Communications Training Officer of the Year, Public Safety Communications Specialist Kelly Grasty for Telecommunicator of the Year, and all three shifts for Team Awards.  These individuals and teams will be recognized and receive certificates for their nominations.
