May 6 Stabbing on Robey Terrace in Silver Spring

For Immediate Release: Monday, May 7, 2012

On May 6 at approximately 11:29 a.m., 3^rd District officers responded to an apartment in the 3400 block of Robey Terrace in Silver Spring for the report of a stabbing.

Investigation by 3^rd District detectives revealed that the suspect, Richard Petgrave, age 48, of the 7900 block of Roxbury Court in Hyattsville, stabbed a 47-year-old male several times.  The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.  Petgrave was taken into custody by officers as he attempted to leave the scene in his vehicle.  Petgrave has been charged with first degree assault, second degree assault, and various weapon offenses.  Investigation has indicated that the stabbing is domestic in nature as Petgrave is the ex-boyfriend of a woman who the victim is currently dating.
