Serious Motorcycle Collision Investigated

Last night (May 8), at approximately 7:07 p.m., 4th District officers and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to Ednor Road and New Hampshire Avenue for a collision that just occurred.  Investigation revealed that a 2005 Honda motorcycle was traveling west on Ednor Road approaching New Hampshire Avenue.  For reasons still under investigation, the motorcycle entered the intersection and struck a 2007 Acura SUV which was traveling north on New Hampshire Avenue.  Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) detectives were called to the scene to investigate the crash.



The driver of the Honda motorcycle has been identified as Hien Dieu Giang, 38-years-old, of the 16800 block of Excaliber Way in Sandy Spring.  Giang was transported to the Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.  As of 10:30 p.m. on May 8, Giang was in critical and stable condition.  The operator of the 2007 Acura MDX has been identified as Thomas Olabode Obisesan, 52-years-old, of the 13400 block of Sorghum Court in Highland.  Obisesan was not injured.



Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) detectives continue to investigate this crash.  Anyone who witnessed this collision is asked to call CRU at 301.840.2435.
