Montgomery County Police Officers to Participate in Community Forum on Teen Drinking and Substance Abuse

For Immediate Release: Monday, May 14, 2012

An invitation from MCCPTA:

On behalf of the Montgomery County Council of Parent Teacher Association's (MCCPTA) Health and Safety Committee, you are cordially invited to attend A Community Action Forum on Teen Drinking/Substance Abuse.  The forum is being sponsored to raise awareness of this emerging community problem and will be held this Wednesday, May 16, 2012 from 7-9 p.m. at Montgomery County Public Schools Carver Educational Services Center Auditorium located at 850 Hungerford Drive, Rockville.

Participating in the forum will be Captain Thomas Didone and MCP school resource officers.  The forum will be moderated by Ed Clarke, a retired MCP Captain/District Commander and former Director of Safety & School Security for Montgomery County Public Schools.

The Montgomery County Police Department has been addressing the issue of teen drinking and substance abuse in a proactive manner for years.  MCCPTA appreciates these efforts and continues to look forward to the collaborative partnership in working with the police to help save the lives of our young people and to be sure our schools remain safe.  We know this is a community problem and will take the effort of all parties working together to address the complex problem.

We encourage you to attend this important community event.
