Colgate Way Deaths Investigated as Domestic-Related

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Homicide/Sex Section are investigating the deaths of a 49-year-old male and his 39-year-old wife as an apparent murder/suicide.  The husband and wife were found deceased inside their apartment in the 13600 block of Colgate Way in the Briggs Chaney area of Silver Spring.

Today, at approximately 10:36 a.m., 3rd  District officers responded to an apartment in the 13600 block of Colgate Way in Silver Spring for a missing person call.  Responding officers met with a family member and made entry into the apartment.  Officers found the male and female deceased and both victims had evidence of trauma to their bodies.  Officers also located a suicide note in the apartment.

Both victims have been transported to Baltimore where the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct autopsies to determine the cause and manner of death for each victim.

The victims are not being identified at this time as next of kin have not been notified.
