For Immediate Release: Tuesday, May 22, 2012

Update: Frederick Henschen was located safe and unharmed on May 30 in Northwest D.C.  See updated press release for further information.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police 4th District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing man from the Aspen Hill area.

Frederick (“Fred”) Henry Louis Henschen, age 66, of the 14500 block of Homecrest Road in the Aspen Hill area of Silver Spring, was last seen at his residence on May 11.  Henschen is described as a white male, approximately 5’10” tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds, with blue eyes, balding gray hair, and a gray beard.  He wears glasses.

Police and family are concerned for Henschen’s welfare because he is schizophrenic and does not have medication.  Henschen recently moved to Aspen Hill from Washington, D.C. and likes to visit the area of K Street and 16th Street in Northwest DC.  Henschen is familiar with public transportation.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Frederick Henschen is asked to call the Montgomery County Police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000.  Callers may remain anonymous.
