Man Stabbed in Friendship Heights - Suspect Apprehended, Charges Pending

For Immediate Release: Thursday, May 24, 2012

At approximately 3:00 a.m. on May 24, 2nd District officers and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to 5404 Wisconsin Avenue for an injured person.  Arriving units found a 24-year-old male suffering from a stab wound to his chest.  He was transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for the stab wound and a collapsed lung.  He is identified as Jose Antonio Hernandez of no known address.  A witness was able to describe the subject who assaulted Hernandez, a lookout was placed, and Metropolitan Police officers found him a short time later near Wisconsin Avenue and Van Ness Street NW.  He is identified as Phillip Enyeazyi, 53 years old, of no known address.

Hernandez remains hospitalized.  Enyeazyi is being held by District of Columbia authorities until he is served with a warrant and taken into custody by MCP detectives.
