Major Crimes Investigates Homicide in Silver Spring

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Homicide/Sex Section are investigating the death of a 34-year-old male as a homicide.  Yesterday evening, the male was found deceased inside his apartment in the 1100 block of East-West Highway in Silver Spring.  The victim is being identified as Eric Somuah, age 34, of the 1100 block of East-West Highway in Silver Spring.

Yesterday at approximately 4:50 p.m., 3rd  District officers responded to an apartment in the 1100 block of East-West Highway for a check the welfare call; a family member could not get in touch with the victim.  Responding officers made entry into the apartment and found the victim deceased.  The male had suffered at least one apparent gunshot wound.

The victim has been transported to Baltimore where the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
