Silver Alert Activated to Locate Critically Missing Man from Silver Spring

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, June 27, 2012

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police 4th District Investigative Section are asking the public for help to locate a critically missing man from the 11300 block of Kenton Place in Silver Spring.  A silver alert has been activated through the Maryland State Police.

Charles Irving Griggs is described as an 82-year-old white male, 5’11” tall, weighing 250 pounds.  He has gray hair and hazel eyes.  He was last seen wearing a short-sleeved tan plaid button-down collared shirt, khaki pants, and brown deck shoes.  He has not been seen since approximately 9:30 last night in Frederick when he left there to return to his Silver Spring home.

He was driving a 2010 white Ford Fusion with Maryland tag 3AS0997.

Mr. Griggs is diabetic, has high blood pressure and is in the early stages of dementia.

Anyone who has information about Mr. Griggs whereabouts is asked to call the 4th District Station at 240-773-5500 or the police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000.
