MCPD Advises AT&T Golf Tournament Spectators to Use Shuttle Service

For Immediate Release: Thursday, June 28, 2012

Montgomery County Police want to advise spectators planning to attend the AT&T Golf Tournament Friday, June 29 through Sunday, July 1, to park in the designated satellite parking lots and take a shuttle bus to and from Congressional Country Club.

The only entrance to the tournament is located at Persimmon Tree Road and Country Club Lane.  Any spectators being dropped off locally at the Congressional Country Club entrance at 8500 River Road will have an approximate mile and a half walk to get to the Persimmon Tree Road entrance.  Eliminating a three-mile round-trip walk is highly advisable due to the extreme temperatures expected through the weekend.

Individuals who park in either of the satellite parking lots will receive shuttle service which arrives directly inside the country club.

For Friday, June 29 only.  This lot is not available for weekend use: Montgomery County Fairgrounds, 16 Chestnut St, Gaithersburg.  Operating hours from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Single day parking and shuttle passes are $10.

This lot is sold out for Friday, June 29.  For Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, July 1 only: Rock Spring Lot, 6720 Rockledge Dr., Bethesda.  Operating: Saturday and Sunday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Single-day parking and shuttle passes are available at $20.

Shuttle buses transport spectators to and from the parking lots and the golf course during lot hours. Shuttles depart approximately every 15 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
