Update: Serious Personal Injury Collision at Routes 29 and 198 Turned Fatal

For Immediate Release: Saturday, June 30, 2012

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU)  continue to investigate the serious one-car personal injury collision that occurred at 5:16 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, on the Route 198 exit ramp to northbound Route 29.  For unknown reasons the driver lost control of his vehicle which left the roadway.

The adult male victim did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital later in the evening on June 30.

This crash is unrelated to any storm damage or power outage.

Anyone with information about the collision is asked to call CRU investigators at 301-840-2435.

More details about the crash and the identity of the victim will be released when they become available.
