The Montgomery County Police Department has received notice that the
Maryland State Highway Administration has approved a request to dedicate a portion of Georgia Avenue to
POIII Luke T. Hoffman. Hoffman died in the line of duty on April 25, 2007. On Wednesday, replicas of one of the signs that will be posted on Georgia Avenue will be presented to the Hoffman family and to the police department.

When: Wednesday, July 11, 1:00 p.m.
Where: Old Georgia Avenue at Montpelier Road
Police Chief J. Thomas Manger, Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett, and Montgomery County Councilmember Phil Andrews will be in attendance.
In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at the new Public Safety Headquarters, 100 Edison Park Drive, Gaithersburg.
