5th District Officers Apprehend Fleeing Burglars

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, August 21, 2012

On August 18, at approximately 11:30 p.m., 5th District officers responded to a residence on Steeple Court in Germantown for a report of a burglary in progress.  The homeowners had contacted police after they had arrived home to discover the lights on and two subjects inside their residence.  The homeowners kept police apprised of the subjects' movements until units arrived at the residence.

After arriving, officers were observing the subjects inside of the residence when one subject ran out of the rear door of the residence.  The subject was apprehended and found to be in possession of property stolen from the residence.  A second subject ran out of the front door of the residence and was apprehended after a short foot pursuit.  This subject was also in possession of property stolen from the residence.

Further investigation revealed that the subjects had kicked in the rear basement door in order to gain access to the residence.

One of the burglary suspects is a 15-year-old male from the 19000 block of Steeple Place in Germantown.  His identity and photo will not be released as he is a juvenile.  He was charged as a juvenile with first-degree burglary, theft over $1,000, and malicious destruction of property.  The second suspect is identified as Bryan Tyrone Littlejohn, age 20, of no fixed address.  Littlejohn was charged with first-degree burglary, theft over $1,000, and malicious destruction of property and released on bond.
