Tomorrow, the MCP Traffic Division will be announcing this year's Back to School Enforcement Campaign which is set to begin on the first day of school, Monday, August 27.  In addition to the traditional enforcement of speed, school bus, and pedestrian violations, this year's campaign will include the expansion of the use of speed cameras.  Speed cameras will be deployed in Speed Camera Corridors around many new school zones including Damascus High School and Cedar Grove Elementary School.

MCP Traffic Division Director, Captain Tom Didone, will highlight this year's enforcement campaign and answer questions on both Back to School safety and the Speed Camera Corridor initiative.  Mr. Todd Watkins, MCPS Transportation Director, will be in attendance to answer any school bus related inquiries.  Mr. Todd Jackson from the ACS/Xerox Corporation will be available to open and discuss the new portable speed camera units (PCU's) and the improved technology associated with the Safe Speed program.
