3 Suspects Arrested for Armed Robbery in Olney

For Immediate Release: Thursday, August 30, 2012

Yesterday evening at approximately 8:37 p.m., police responded to the unit block of Castle Garden Court in Olney for the report of an armed robbery and shots fired.

Investigation by officers on scene of the incident revealed that three people were inside a residence in the unit block of Castle Garden Court when they heard a noise coming from the backyard.  When the occupants went to investigate the noise, they realized that three dirt bikes were gone from the yard.  The three occupants exited the front door of the residence and were notified by a neighbor that he had observed three suspects pushing the dirt bikes on a path by the residence.  The three occupants, joined by another friend, followed the path and located the suspects with the dirt bikes.  All three suspects dropped the stolen bikes and fled on foot.  As two of the occupants (victims) were pushing the bikes back to the residence, the three suspects ran towards the two victims.  One of the suspects punched one of the victims in the face while another suspect pointed a handgun in the direction of the victims and shot the gun.  None of the victims were hit and they ran back to the residence to call police.  The suspects were last seen pushing the bikes in the area of MedStar Montgomery Medical Center (18100 block of Prince Philip Drive).

Police units responded to the area and a lookout was placed for the three suspects.  K9 Units and a Maryland State Police helicopter responded to assist in the search for the suspects.  A K9 unit tracked one of the suspects and the suspect was arrested in the area.  This suspect has been identified as Michael Denis Woods, age 23, of the 3600 block of Ely Place in Washington, D.C.   A K9 unit located a pistol in the area of Woods' apprehension.  Patrol units and detectives located the other two suspects in the area and placed them under arrest.  Those two suspects have been identified as Enoch Nelson, age 18, of an unconfirmed address and Junious Pierae Plummer, age 24, of the 500 block of Foxhall Place Southeast in Washington, D.C.  All three suspects were transported to the Central Processing Unit.

Woods has been charged with attempted second degree murder, first degree assault, armed robbery, wearing a handgun on person, the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, armed robbery, and discharging a gun in an urban area.  Nelson has been charged with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery.  Plummer has been charged with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery, and second degree assault.

Mugshots of the suspects will be added to the website as they become available.
