Concern for Missing Silver Spring Woman

For Immediate Release: Friday, September 14, 2012

Detectives from the 4th District are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 91-year-old woman from Silver Spring.

Libby Appel Leibowitz, age 91, of the 15000 block of Haslemere Court in Silver Spring, was last seen leaving her residence in her vehicle on September 13 at 10:45 am. Leibowitz never made it to her destination. Police and family are concerned for Leibowitz's well-being.

Leibowitz is described as a white female, approximately 5' 6? tall and weighing 180 pounds. She has white hair and brown eyes. Leibowitz has a medical condition that requires medication. Ms. Leibowitz drives a dark green 2003 Toyota Camry with Maryland tag number AMS562.

Anyone who comes into contact with Leibowitz is asked to call police immediately. Anyone with information regarding Leibowitz’s whereabouts is asked to contact the police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000.
