Police Investigate Wheaton Woman's Death as Homicide

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division are investigating the death of a Wheaton woman as a homicide.

On today's date at 3:31 a.m., 4th District officers responded to the 2200 block of Georgian Way in Wheaton for the report of a domestic assault that had just occurred.  Responding officers found 37-year-old Rocio Nikaury Morcelo deceased in the stairwell of the apartment building where she resided.

Detectives determined that 31-year-old Martire Puente-Fulcar had a relationship with Morcelo and lived in the apartment with her and three children.  Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant charging him with first degree murder.

Martire Puente-Fulcar is described as 6', 1" tall and weighing 190 pounds.  He has short black hair and was last seen wearing an orange shirt and tan pants.  He may be driving a newer Ford Edge, black in color with the Maryland temporary tags of T558404.

Anyone coming into contact with Fulcar is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.  Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding Fulcar's whereabouts to call the  Major Crimes Division at 240.773.5070.  Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or enter a tip online.  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment for this felony crime.
