Detectives Seeking Identity of Silver Spring Burglary Suspect

Detectives from the 3rd District Investigative Section are investigating a series of daytime apartment burglaries that have been occurring in the downtown area of Silver Spring.

Between September 10 and September 18, there have been 8 burglaries or attempted burglaries that have occurred at the following locations:

  • 1200 block of Fidler Lane
  • 800 block of Juniper Street (3 incidents)
  • 1200 block of East West Highway
  • 7700 block of Blair Road
  • 8300 block of Colesville Road
  • 8700 block of Georgia Avenue
In all of the incidents, the targeted residences have been high rise or garden-style apartments.  In the high rise incidents, the suspect follows residents into the building; in the garden-style incidents, the suspect enters through the rear door or window of the apartment

Today, detectives are releasing several surveillance photos of the suspect as well as a composite that was created of the suspect.  The suspect is described as a black male, 20-30 years old, 5'7"-5'9" tall, and weighing 150-160 pounds.

Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment for these felony crimes.
