Collision Reconstruction Unit Investigates Fatal Collision in Wheaton

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal collision that occurred this morning in Wheaton.

This morning at approximately 7:06 a.m., officers from the 4th District responded to Georgia Avenue and Ennalls Avenue for a report of a personal injury collision. Preliminary investigation has revealed that a 2002 Kawasaki motorcycle and a 2013 Freightliner box truck were driving north on Georgia Avenue (approaching University Boulevard West) in parallel lanes.  For reasons still under investigation, the motorcycle entered the lane of the truck and the motorcycle and truck collided.

The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The driver of the truck was not injured.  The driver of the motorcycle is being identified as Ega Egbemimon Edorh-Ananou, age 31, of the 3200 block of Walters Lane in District Heights, Maryland.  The driver of the truck is being identified as Erick U Tatchikou, age 35, of the 9800 block of Plowline Road in Randallstown, Maryland.

The circumstances surrounding this collision remain under investigation.  Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed this fatal collision and have not spoken to detectives to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773- 6620.  (Please note new phone number).  Callers may remain anonymous.
