Concern for Missing Bethesda Man

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, October 3, 2012

Detectives from the 2nd District Investigative Section are asking for the public's assistance in locating a missing Bethesda man.

Gregory Gerhart Burkart, age 48, left his residence in the 5900 block of Melvern Drive this morning at approximately 4:00 a.m.  He did not take his keys, wallet, identification, or cell phone with him.

Burkart is described as a white male, 5'6", and weighing approximately 140 pounds.  He has blue eyes (wears glasses) and brown balding hair.  Burkart is believed to be wearing a tan light-weight jacket, a white t-shirt, blue sweatpants, and tan moccasin slippers.  He has a scar on his right wrist and on his naval.

Police and family are concerned for Burkart's well-being.

Detectives are asking that anyone with information about Burkart or his whereabouts contact police at the non-emergency number, 301-279-8000.
