Detectives Ask for Help in Identifying Bank Robbery Suspect

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division - Robbery Section are investigating a bank robbery that occurred on September 18 at a Capitol One Bank in Rockville.

On September 18, at approximately 12:12 p.m., 1st District and Rockville City officers responded to the Capitol One bank located at 101 Halpine Road for a report of a bank robbery.  Investigation revealed that the suspect entered the bank, approached the teller, and presented a note demanding cash and implying a weapon.  The teller presented the suspect with an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect fled from the bank on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6'0" tall, wearing a black jacket and a black and white hooded sweatshirt.

Detectives believe that this suspect is responsible for robbing this same bank on August 20, 2011.  On August 20, 2011, at approximately 10:02 a.m., officers responded to the Capitol One bank for a report of a bank robbery.  Investigation revealed that the suspect entered the bank, approached the teller, and presented a note demanding cash.  The teller presented the suspect with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the bank on foot.

The suspect in this incident was described as a black male, 6'3" tall, approximately 25-30 years old, and wearing a black windbreaker, blue jeans, and black sneakers.
