Concern for Missing Rockville Teenager

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Family Crimes Division are seeking the public's assistance in locating a teenager missing from Rockville.

Maria Ann Ward, age 17, of the 500 block of Baltimore Road in Rockville was last seen on August 1, 2012.  Ward is described as a white female, 5'0" tall, and weighing 130 pounds.  She has brown eyes and medium-length black hair.

Ward is known to frequent the downtown Wheaton area and the Washington, D.C. area.

Police and family are concerned for Ward because no one has seen or heard from her since her disappearance on August 1.

Since August 1, detectives have been following leads presented to them by family members and friends and have investigated social media-related leads.  To date, none of these leads have presented any information to detectives about Ward's whereabouts.  Also, detectives have recently received information that Ward may be in the company of an adult male.

Now, detectives are asking for the public's assistance in locating Ward.  Anyone with information in regard to Maria Ann Ward’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000.  Callers may remain anonymous.
