For Immediate Release: Thursday, November 1, 2012
The
Olney Chamber of Commerce oversees the upkeep of the Olney Satellite Police Station. Recently, the District 14 Legislators secured a state grant of $10,000 for upgrades to the station (ie: roofing, siding, decking, painting, a side walkway, and a new front door). Because this grant is a matching grant, the Olney Chamber of Commerce and community are required to raise $10,000.
To assist in raising funds,
Olney Group Fitness and
Our Lady of Good Counsel High School are hosting a Zumbathon on Sunday, November 11, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Zumbathon will be held at Good Counsel High School located at 17301 Old Vic Boulevard in Olney. This exciting event includes the best Zumba dancing, refreshments, raffles, and the opportunity to burn 2000 calories!
Advance admission is $15 (
http://olneygroupfitness.eventbrite.com/#) or $20 at the door (cash or check only). All money collected will be donated to the Olney Police Satellite matching grant fund (through the Olney Chamber of Commerce) and the cost of admission is tax-deductible.
