PCAT Officers Make Olney Drug Arrest

For Immediate Release: Friday, November 2, 2012

Members of the Montgomery County Police Community Action Team (PCAT) have been involved in an on-going drug investigation in Olney.

PCAT officers developed information that a suspect in Olney was involved in selling marijuana.  On November 1, officers observed the suspect, Fadhl Hassan Deen, age 20, of the 18200 block of Fountain Grove Way in Olney, commit a traffic violation in his vehicle.  PCAT officers stopped the vehicle. Using a K9 unit trained in drug detection, officers were able to determine that marijuana was likely present in the vehicle.  A search of the vehicle was conducted and close to two pounds of marijuana was recovered. Deen was taken into custody.

Later that evening, a search warrant was served on Deen’s residence and PCAT officers located and seized additional amounts of marijuana and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency believed to be proceeds from the sale of marijuana.

Deen was charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute.  He is currently out on bond and awaiting a court hearing scheduled for November 30, 2012.
