Detectives Release Video of Gaithersburg Chipotle Robbery - Ask for Public's Help in Identifying Suspect

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section continue to investigate a commercial armed robbery that occurred on October 21 at a Chipotle restaurant in Gaithersburg.

On October 21 at approximately 10:43 p.m., 6th District officers responded to the Chipotle restaurant located at 564 North Frederick Avenue (in the Gaithersburg Square Shopping Center) for the report of a commercial armed robbery.  Investigation revealed that the suspect entered the rear door of the business as an employee was disposing of trash through that door.  The suspect displayed a handgun and forced the employees into an office.  The suspect then ordered the manager to open the restaurant safe and removed an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect fled on foot towards the area of the Montgomery County fairgrounds (to the rear of the shopping center).

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6’1? to 6'3" tall, weighing approximately 250 to 270 pounds, and wearing a plaid shirt and dark pants.  The suspect had a white covering over his face.
