Detectives Release Photographs of Subway Robbery Suspect

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, November 13, 2012

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section continue to investigate a commercial armed robbery that occurred on November 4 at a Subway restaurant in Germantown.  Today, detectives are releasing photographs of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.

On November 4 at approximately 9:22 a.m., 5th District officers responded to the Subway restaurant located at 19911 Frederick Road in Germantown for the report of a commercial armed robbery.  Investigation revealed that the suspect entered the front door, walked to the cash register, displayed a handgun, and demanded money.  The employee gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect fled on foot through the back door of the business.

The suspect is described as an unknown male, approximately 6’02? to 6'04" tall, and weighing approximately 210 to 220 pounds.  The suspect was wearing a black, North Face Jacket, a ball cap, jeans, and a dark scarf around his face.  It should be noted that the suspect's clothing is actually darker than it appears in the surveillance photos.

Detectives are also releasing photographs of a female who was in the restaurant prior to the robbery and may have witnessed the robbery.  Detectives are asking this possible witness to please call detectives at 240-773-5100.
