Virginia Woman Found in Potomac River

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating the death of a woman who was found unresponsive in the Potomac River earlier this morning by Montgomery County Fire/Rescue.

Detectives responded to Suburban Hospital where the victim had been pronounced deceased.  Detectives identified the victim as 53-year-old Karjia Jiang.  Jiang was visiting from China and staying with relatives in the 9100 block of Sterling Montague Drive in Great Falls,Virginia.  Jiang told her family that she was taking a walk in Great Falls National Park.  It is unknown how or where Jiang entered the water. Detectives are classifying her death as undetermined at this time, however no foul play is suspected.
