Police Investigate Shooting in Bel Pre Area of the County

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division - Homicide/Sex Section are investigating the shooting death of a 28-year-old male that occurred early this morning.

At 2:52 a.m., 4th District officers and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to the report of a shooting in the 3700 block of Bel Pre Road.  At the scene, officers located the victim who was suffering from gunshot wounds.  He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was approached by two black male suspects while on foot in the 3700 block of Bel Pre Road.  A verbal exchange occurred and the victim was shot.  Detectives continue to investigate this crime and are in the process of confirming details regarding the suspect descriptions.  The victim's identity will be released after family has been notified.
