Update: Victim Identified in Bel Pre Shooting

Detectives continue to investigate the fatal shooting of a 28-year-old man in the 3700 block of Bel Pre Road this morning.  This evening, investigators are identifying the victim as Edwin Alexander Campos Hernandez of the 3700 block of Bel Pre Road.





At 2:52 a.m., 4th District officers and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to the report of a shooting in the 3700 block of Bel Pre Road.  At the scene, officers located Hernandez who was suffering from gunshot wounds.  He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Hernandez was approached by two black male suspects while on foot in the 3700 block of Bel Pre Road.  A verbal exchange occurred, and Hernandez was shot.  Detectives continue to investigate this homicide and are in the process of confirming details regarding the suspect descriptions.
