Media Advisory: Family Member of Bel Pre Homicide Victim to Speak

  • WHAT:          The brother of homicide victim Edwin Campos Hernandez will speak about how the crime has impacted his family.
On December 16 at approximately 2:52 a.m., 4th District officers and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to the report of a shooting in the 3700 block of Bel Pre Road.  At the scene, officers located the victim, Edwin Campos Hernandez, who was suffering from gunshot wounds.  He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Investigation indicates that the victim was approached by two black male suspects while on foot in the 3700 block of Bel Pre Road.  A verbal exchange occurred and the victim was shot.

The victim's brother, Elmer Campos Hernandez, will speak to the media about his brother and family, and ask for the public's assistance in helping the police find those responsible for his brother's death.

Investigators from the Major Crimes Division - Homicide/Sex Section may also be available to provide any updates on the investigation.
