Detectives Ask for Public’s Help in Identifying Armed Robbery Suspect

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section continue to investigate the armed robbery of the Food Express restaurant that occurred on December 18. Today, detectives are releasing surveillance photos of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.

On December 18 at approximately 1:14 a.m., officers from the 1st District and Rockville City Police responded to the Food Express located at 16254 Frederick Road in Rockville, for the report of an armed robbery.  Preliminary investigation revealed that a lone gunman enter the establishment, approached the clerk and announced a robbery while displaying a handgun.  The clerk obeyed the suspect’s commands to give him the cash from the register and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his mid-20s, 5'7"-5'8" tall, weighing approximately 180-200 pounds.  He was wearing a blue coat, dark jeans, black and white sneakers, and a Los Angeles Dodgers baseball hat. He displayed a black semi-automatic handgun.
