Concern for Missing Takoma Park Woman

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, December 25, 2012

Detectives from the 3rd District are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing woman from Takoma Park.

Natacha Jean Baptiste, age 39, of the 8100 block of Chester Street in Takoma Park, last had contact with family on December 22 at approximately 9:00 p.m.  Baptiste had made plans to visit family in New York with an arrival date of December 24. Baptiste has failed to arrive in New York and has not been in touch with her family. Baptiste does not drive and it is believed that she planned on taking public transportation to New York.

Baptiste is described as an African American female, approximately 5’9’’ tall, wearing glasses, and weighing approximately 190 pounds.  At the present time, Baptiste is wearing her hair in braids.

Police and family are concerned for Baptiste because it is not like her to lose contact with her family.  Detectives do not know if Baptiste left her Takoma Park residence for New York, but packed suitcases were found in her residence.

Anyone who has information regarding the whereabouts of Natacha Baptiste is asked to immediately contact the Montgomery County Police using the following non-emergency number: 301.279.8000.  Callers may remain anonymous.
